We are sailing to Hawaii on the QV in February and i was wondering if anyone had been to Pearl Harbour while in Honolulu, Cunard do operate a tour Pearl Harbour but i wandered if it was possible to do it on your own without having to go on all the other sections of the tour as the one quoted by the ship lasts for 6 hours.
Anyone with any information at would be gratefully appreciated.

Pearl Harbour Trip

Yes we did it on our own. We just caught a bus and once there you can book the tour etc.
When you dock in Honolulu just ask at the Visitors centre at the pier. They directed us to the bus and told us times etc.

Yes, it is possible and often cheaper and more effective to visit The Pearl Harbour Memorial site.
I found it interesting, realistic and very impressive. You cannot, in my mind visit the site without some deep and emotional feels affecting you. Neil

I agree , It really is a very emotional trip, I did the ship's tour, the memorial site will bring a lump to your throat, as will the film they show you of the actual event. CG

Hi Totally agree with the others about the visit to Pearl Habour it definitely is well worth doing. It is suggested that unless you book the ship's excursion you will spend alot of time waiting for your visit. We did not find this so, however, we did leave the ship early and took a taxi to the site. After our tour we took a further taxi to Wakiki beach and walked back to the ship (25-30 minute walk)

I have read there can be a long queue for the Arizona Memorial, any idea about how long ?
