Funny use of the english language - suggested by whom? using the word suggested suggests () that its up for debate or can be modified, haggled over, discretionary.

Didn't think you could modify it? How about replacing 'suggested' with 'compulsory'?

Not to forget the extra 8% that the Spanish "suggest" for their VAT when sailing in Spanish waters

Is it just When in Spanish waters? We were on the Jade - homeported in BCN and the 8% tax followed us to Monaco and Italy.

Under EU rules it's just when in Spanish ports or territorial waters, mind you that could be just 5 mins that day if they cut a corner (probably not a good time to suggest ships do that sort of thing)

I think some ships plead ignorance and then pocket the difference as pure profit

Egentlig veldig bra. Jeg studerte det for ett år som en del av mitt primære grad! Jeg tilbrakte to somre i Norge de siste 5 årene for å friske opp det som jeg var litt rusten!
