Advice pleaseGoing on Auzura to Barbados,St Marrten,Tortola,Grand Turk,St Kitts,Antigua,Dominica,St Vincent Barbados. Can anyone confirm that there are mini buses at all of these ports that do excursions that are cheaper than P&O's
Also "Grand Turk" Do's anyone have any idea the distant from port to cockburn town is it within walking distance
Hi At every Caribbean port minibuses and taxis will be available for hire for independent tours, most will cover the same ground as the ship's excursion programme and are reliable and considerably cheaper . If you fancy the Sugar Cane Express tour on St Kitts (I would recommend it) you have to book via the ship's excursion programme. I have been to Grand Turk twice but I didn't leave the purpose built beach and bar/shopping complex region, I just had a relaxed day on the beach.

hi,shudow;
i think you've asked something similar before?
at grand turk the ship will berth by a cruise-line resort area with free sunbeds and at st.maarten you can take a water taxi or walk to to town beach.
this is a refreshing change from the need to get a taxi or excursion to the beach, so enjoy!
Yes I have asked a simuler question and appriciate your information.
I am not one to be on a beach all day, but do like an half day. Do you have any idea the distance from port to cockburn town so I can consider the beach as well
Did the same islands on Ventura recently.
It was always cheaper to go outside the port (review posted in the reviews section) In my opinion Cockburn is not worth the trip - walking or mini-bus - very dilapidated. It's around 45mins to walk and by no means picturesque.
I hope that this helps.
I didn't mention that the cruise terminal area has been developed by Carnival Corp (who own P&O among others) there are free loungers on the beach to the left and right of the berth - easy walking distance. The shopping mall is extensive and includes a "Jimmy Buffet's Margharitaville ("it's five o'clock somewhere in the world" is the logo) with a swimming pool and bar/restaurant, and an outdoor exhibit dedicated to the mid-sixties USA space programme, as Friendship 7 (I believe), splashed down just off the coast of Grand Turk.
For those of a certain age you will see where Gerry Anderson got the names for his Thunderbird puppet characters!
You can also have various massages on the beach - one of our friends had suffered from a really troublesome neck and the 30minute/$50.00 treatment all but cured this.
