Topic: beach excursions

hi there, am cruising on splendour of the seas in oct and am stopping at Bari, Corfu, Santorini, Kusadasi (Ephesus) Katakolon.
Apart from seeing the obvious sites i just wondered if there is anywhere that you can just get off the ship and go to a nearby beach for the day?

We are doing te same trip! Are you getting inclusive flights with rci? Do u know how long we gave in barcelona before we depart? Seems we go straight from flight to ship, and dont see any of the city, but im probably wrong!?

was a close call tho cos i just love barcelona and the port is just a hop from one of the main 'ramblas'. enjoy!

In Santorini, walk from the cable car towards the cathedral (turn right), and the bus station is across the road. The bus to Kamari is every hour, and takes about 1/2 an hour. There are only a few beaches on the island, and they're rough, volcanic grit, but the little town is set up for beach holidays, with a water taxi round the headland. It's the cheaper end of the island, and a typical Med. beach, with cafes and shops along the front. The sun goes behind the mountain in the afternoon, so that's a good time to make your way back to Fira.It's a tiny island, so always have the back-up of a taxi in case anything happens to the bus....so it shouldn't cost too much!
