Hi all
We are new to cruising and may go on one this summer. What do you think to the Thomson ships. The cabins don't look as nice as some other lines but seem good value as tips flights etc are included.
Thanks ;)
We have only been on Destiny and Dream, Dream was the best of those two. All Thomson ships are oldish so thats why they are cheaper to go on. That said they are comfortable and clean, bit tired in places, but crew are very good and prices reasonable. Drink packages for one week can start at £49 for booze and soft drinks. Cabins on the newer ships are about the same size as Thomson's but oviously all new, although Thomson have been refurbishing cabins as they go along - literally, at sea on one occasion, officer had t and tell the gang to stop using hammers while ship at sea, do it in port when most passengers on deck or ashore.
If its your first time try a cruise, we love it and can't think of a 'beach' holiday any more.
There is no need to run the waiters keep you topped up with drinks .
