Muscle Men at sea: Magic or Mad?

May we reveal Carnival Magic's latest 'cruising first'...

"The World's first Outdoor weightlifting area at sea!"

Do we get a Woop woop! (OR wack, wack, oops...?)

    What were they thinking?

The new 'weights area' is to be part of an outdoor sports zone called SportsSquare.

In addition to outdoor weightlifting, SportsSquare will feature the cruise industry's first ropes course and a two-level miniature golf course.

Surrounded by an eighth-mile jogging track, it will also include a Vita exercise course; a lighted multi-purpose court for basketball, volleyball and soccer; and ping pong and foosball tables.

A full bar with a large flat-screen display also will be part of the complex for those who want to relax while watching the pumping action!

Is it just me? How do you feel about watching muscle men pumping iron on top deck whilst sipping a cocktail? Is it magic, or mad?

Are Carnival scraping the cruise first barrel?

Q: What do you think would make a good 'cruising first' attraction to reel 'em in? :D

Never over estimate the American general public. The concept is to recreate the trendy 'beach life' in parts of America such as Venice beach, where guys and girls do work out in public, watched by admirers. It will probably be a big hit with Carnival's particular clientèle. However I can't see it catching on onboard Saga ships.;)

The thought of a bunch of narcissistic creatures pooving about in their budgie smugglers is enough to put me off my mojitos!:p Even Stugeron wouldn't settle my stomach after that!

You need a very strong stomach to tolerate the Carnival decor in the first pace!

    How true!
There are enough posers as it is, but seeing them strut about as I'm sure they would and there would no doubt be women as well. Thinking to themselves.........' God, I do look good, look at all the admiring glances' Not realising it turns some folks stomachs. YUK!

I was wondering how long it would be before the first 3D cinema at sea, or has anybody actually done it already? I also want to know where they keep the horses for the ship they advertise on the tele where they say you can do horse riding - I would have enjoyed that.... It would be great on the QV - perhaps they could organise polo matches... or perhaps greyhound racing on deck 3 where you can get all the way round... Food for thought perhaps...
