Scottish cruise operator the Majestic Line has announced that it has been nominated for two prestigious awards.
The company revealed that it has been shortlisted for the Extra Mile honour at this year's Thistle Awards, which will culminate in a ceremony at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on October 29th.
At the 2010 Williamson Foodservice Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards, the Majestic Line will be among the nominees for the accolade recognising the best use of local produce.
Marie Thoms, the cruise operator's sales manager, said: "To be nominated for just one of these awards would have been great, but to receive two nominations in one morning is tremendous.
"Both of these awards are regarded as being extremely prestigious, so it is an understatement to say that everyone associated with the Majestic Line is thrilled."
The company offers nine sailing routes from Argyll and Oban, including the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness cruise, which was introduced this year.
