NEW Simple Visa for Crusing to India

The Indian High Commission have changed the type of visa issued to cruise travellers.

Those guests on cruises visiting India in more than one occasion (ie: more than one port of call during a cruise) will be issued a “multiple” entry visa with an annotation “travelling on a cruise” underneath (currently the annotation is hand-written on the visa sticker).

The condition of the 2 month gap between entries (which is usually printed in green) will not appear on these applicants’ visas.

This is good news as it simplifies the visa processing and it means there will be less room for error.

Cruise applicants will still need to submit the cruise confirmation and full itinerary to qualify for this special multiple entry visa.

The above only applies to those travelling on a cruise. Tourists travelling by air are not affected by the above and are still subject to the “2 month gap” rule.

    I dont quite get this?

I had a six month multiple entry visa last year (for the purpose of a cruise)
No where on it did it state anything about a two month rule and no where was anything hand written about travelling on a cruise.

I am confused too. I knew nothing about the 2 month rule. We had a multiple entry visa valid for 1 year and re entered in less than 2 months, not cruising but during a 6 week stay.

Emmar this is an important issue and a quick glance at the official VFS Global website for India Visa's had nothing jumping out of the page at me.

Can you provide a link and more importantly the assumed lower price of this cruise option.

I assume there is a lower price, otherwise there seems little point.

    Regards

I'm wondering if this 'two month' entry rule is quite recent?
There is something about the two month rule on the vsf web site if you search but it certainly something I was not aware of 18 months ago.

However I too can find no mention on their web site of a variation to do with multiple entries made via a cruise.
