    Would you cruise amongst Cougars..?

NCL's Norwegian Sky will be hosting the third International Cougar Cruise next month to the Bahamas.

The organiser - Rich Gosse, has only attracted 100 people on the 3-day cruise, so admits there will be regular cruisers on board as well. Let's hope they're discreet, eh?

For those unaware of what a cougar is (and we're not talking about a mountain cat), a “cougar” is a woman of a certain age who is looking for, ahem, a toy boy.

During the cruise, the Cougars (and their prey) will wear special wrist bands.

The cougars trip sets sail December 3 but there is another planned for next April aboard Liberty of the Seas from Barcelona if you fancy it. For more info click here.

How would you feel if you found out this kind of event was happening on your cruise? Would it bother you, or would it make for interesting people-watching?

Ummmmmm....wouldn't there be a lot more women than toy boys? Unless the women were known to be very rich I suppose.

A store that sells new husbands has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates.
You may visit the store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch: you may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.

On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs.

The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids.

The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids, and are extremely good looking.

"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads: Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are drop-dead good looking and help with the housework.
"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"
Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.
Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.
A new wives store opened across the street.
The first floor has wives that love sex.
The second floor has wives that love sex and have money.
The third through sixth floors have never been visited.

I would imagine that most people who go on cruises like this are looking to find a partner, not a
one-night stand, a sort of dating agency at sea.

Short-term mating isn’t as rampant as some might think, no doubt there are those that use it just as
an excuse for enjoying the pleasures of the body.

I would imagine that there is no data available as to how many long-term partnerships result from
one of these types of cruise. They just might meet Mr Right......

As for going on one, well, as long as the ship was'nt over-run with them - not a problem for me.

Carnival already tried this and had to cancel the cruise due to lack of takers!
Cougars aren't looking for romance though, I believe the idea is that they feel entitled to act like men have through the ages - love 'em and leave 'em, and the younger the better....

    Hi CF
Personally, I don’t see how cougar-themed travel packages differ from any other singles travel package out there. For that matter, it could be argued they’re the same as any theme trip designed to bring people who share a common interest together. As long as everyone is of legal age.

Carnival said in the past that the cougar crowd didn’t create any particular problems on board, but that the company has made a business decision to stop booking groups with this theme on its ships. No doubt the decision is probably meant to boost Carnival's focus on family fun cruising..

"Acting like men through the ages" I dont share your opinion on that at all - not this side of the water anyway. "Love them and leave them" I suppose that would depend on their outlook on life and what each individual was looking for.

You have to be a man to write that...:D I think a lot of ladies on 'your side of the water' would disagree.
If a man has a lot of 'experience' he is thought worldly, whereas for women, they are and always have been thought of as being disreputable if they do that.... the cougars apparently want to do what men have always been able to do, play the field and move on...

And I guess you must be a woman,:D I agree that it was the case, women were looked on as
disreputable, and have been since the dawn of civilised time - but all that is changing with the passing of time.

Someone actually might be doing it as an expression of their warmth to other people. A warm person might
hug lots of people; a warm person might kiss lots of people. Well, maybe a warm person might sleep with
    lots of people.

While sleeping with multiple partners carries with it certain health risks and also those involved being labeled as
'disreputable' it could be that someone’s not doing it to achieve pleasure, but only because it gives them a
closeness to another person if only for a while - there are many lonely folk who deserve a little slice of happiness.

It’s particularly interesting that warm people tend to be promiscuous, because in some ways, it conflicts with
the moral thinking that promiscuity is bad.

I have known (Not intimately you understand) several ladies of easy virture, and I have never treated them any
differantly from anyone else, and I would certainly not look down on them because of who or what they do, likewise with gays.

Good luck to them if thats what floats their boat. We are all entitled to seek pleasure where we can find it ~ men or women.

Please excuse any mistakes I have two grandchilren here and I keep
having to get up for them - hope all this makes sense as they keep breaking my train of thought.. .....Regards

David, I think you're reading too much into it. Having just come back from 'over the pond' and having read the papers, I have to agree with C.F.'s assesment of the ethos of the cruise. ;)
