People planning Caribbean cruises next year might be tempted to arrange their trip in the spring after hearing comments made by one travel expert.

Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, recommended a number of destinations for spring holidays following the news that April 29th 2011 would be a bank holiday to celebrate Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding.

He said that there are many appealing locations to explore in Europe during the spring, but advised people hoping to spend some time on the beach to consider heading further afield.

"If people are thinking about beaches then I think there is a very strong argument that you need to get out of Europe because it won't be warm enough to do much at that time of year in terms of swimming in the sea," Mr Hall commented.

"So maybe you can head to Goa, Cuba or Dubai or around the Caribbean - it is an absolutely lovely time to be in the Caribbean."

Royal Caribbean's new ship Allure of the Seas will be operating Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale, Florida next spring, visiting the Bahamas, St Maarten and other destinations.
