Post Royal Caribbean passengers preach 'End of the World'

If you thought the world was going to end in a few weeks, would you cruise to spread the news?

According to USA today, that's exactly what a group of 30 or so passengers did, aboard Explorer of the Seas.

The group who belong to a religious fellowship in New York, staged rallies during a 2-day visit to Bermuda to warn locals that the end of the world is just a few weeks away.

They wore bright yellow t-shirts emblazoned with 'Judgement Day 5.21.11'

"We are warning as many people as possible," the group's leader, Simeon Daliy, said. "There is biblical evidence that the end of the world is almost here."

Apparently, the group follows the teachings of a California preacher who had previously predicted the end was coming in 1994. He later said he'd gotten his calculations wrong...

I wonder if they got a big discount for being a large party. Or did RCI charge them double, seeing as they wouldn't need the money after said date

If I had known I would not have just paid the final balance for my June cruise.

Well, that's taking it a stage further than door-to-door knocking ! I understand that these people see it as their duty to spread the word to non-believers to find God before the dreadful day. Consequently you will be 'saved'.

I was once told I will live till I am 93 by a fortune teller in New York. So don't worry, I still got nearly 30 years left if you believe her.

Wonder why they picked Bermuda! Was it for the weather or did they think the people of Bermuda particularly needed to be saved? Naaah they just picked a nice place to cruise.

Funny that Americans think everybody writes the date the same way as them, month, day, then year. Chances are the Bermudians looked at the dates and thought "What a bunch of wallies! Can't even print the date right. Everybody knows there's only 12 months not 21!"
