Post Royal Caribbean to launch first Stansted connection

Royal Caribbean is about to launch its first direct cruise connection from London Stansted using BA charters to Venice.

From June, flights will connect to seven-night Adriatic sailings on Voyager of the Seas.

UK and Ireland general manger Jo Rzymowska said: “Feedback from cruise travellers tells us that convenient flight connections are a factor when selecting their next cruise experience.

“Around 6.7 million people live in Stansted’s main catchment area, putting our cruise connections onto the doorstep of millions of potential customers.

“The new service will deliver an efficient route for thousands of UK cruisers to begin their holiday immediately on the day of departure”.

Stansted may be convenient for London and East Anglia dwellers but it is the most difficult London area airport to get to if you live anywhere else in this country. 6.7 million people may live in its catchment area but that just leaves 56 million who dont.

I wonder if it just happens to be cheaper for RSC to fly from Stansted!

Stansted! NO A terrible place to go from if you live in the north or Scotland. What is wrong with Scotland for a flight venue? London and the south coast has more than enough areas to start a cruise from. Heathrow is the worse airport in the world and Stansted the second if one is disabled.

This is a good idea and works for a lot of cruisers...be good if this idea spreads to other parts of the country for our other fellow passengers.....

Any idea how much costs will now be for standard 7 day cruise with flights from stanstead?

We live near Bath and and are booked on the 7 day Adriatic cruise flying from Stansted on June 11. Looking at the map Stansted is a bit of trek for us but when we booked we were offered a free BA flight and free gratuities if we flew from Stansted so that's what we're doing as we felt it was too good an offer to refuse. Only time will tell if we've done right or if we'd go from there again.
