Island Escape Being Taken Out Of Service

Weve just had our Island Escape cruise cancelled by Thomson without any warning. We were due to sail on the 21st December 2011 and apparently its going out of service from around October this year until spring 2012. Difficult to say how many bookings had already been taken in this period as we had seen many adverts saying such as 'Only 3 cabins left' at this price etc. Our particular winter cruise was flying to Cyprus, then sailing to Turkey, Alexandria and Israel. Rather than have our money back, weve been moved to the Red Sea cruise now on the Thomson Celebration which hopefully will be just as enjoyable, we had originally just wanted to do without the formalities for a change, which was the main reason for choosing the Island Escape.

Red Sea Magic is a fantastic itinerary. You will have as much history as you can take in within a week with the added bonus of some amazing snorkelling opportunities on the Red Sea.

    Cruising my way through life!

Itīs never nice to have something cancelled or changed that you have been looking forward to but the Red Sea cruise on the Celebration is also a really wonderful experience. I hope you enjoy it!

Hello Pete - Out of interest did they give a reason as to why they are taking it out of service?, My Aunt is returning today having been on the Escape last week.

    Regards Diddy

Not been on Celebration, but on her identical sister ship Spirit. I am sure you will have a great cruise, they only have one formal evening per week, and its no problem to opt out. Also if eating in the buffet is your style, you can also do this every day, and evening if you so wish.
Sorry the cruise you wanted has been cancelled, but have no doubt the alternative will be equally as enjoyable.
