Topic: Six ships to visit Southampton on Saturday

Attention all ship-spotters!

This Saturday (16th), six cruise ships will be in port at the same time.

More than 33,500 passengers will pass through the port.

The ships are all set to arrive in port early in the morning, then depart at various times during the late afternoon and early evening.

The ships scheduled to be in port are Celebrity Eclipse, 101 berth, City Cruise Terminal; Artania, 102 berth; Balmoral, 104 berth; Crown Princess, 106 berth, Mayflower Terminal; Grand Princess, 38/9 berth, Queen Elizabeth II Terminal and Ventura, 46 berth, Ocean Terminal.

Huge crowds of sightseers and shipping enthusiasts are expected (so you won't be alone! )

One of my colleagues at work has taken up the £25 meal and tour option on saturday aboard Ventura
She is hoping to persuade her OH to take a cruise and feels that once he has had a taste of life onboard it'll be all systems go.

Let's ee if they can do the 15 minute 'kerbside to Cabin' that they do in Fort Lauderdale. My record longest boarding was 3 hours 20 mins for Independence of the Seas in Southampton

I'll be there with my wife, child, mother, aunt and uncle. Sailing off on N118 aboard Ventura to the Norwegian Fjords. This is a definite added bonus!

I was puzzled by the name of one of the ships due in Southampton on the 16th - 'Artania'. I've read that the ship is owned/leased to the German cruise line 'Phoenix/Reisen'. Was this ship formerly the Royal Princess/Artemis?

Any members been invited to lunch on the Eclipse Saturday? I know someone who has.

Don't know about lunch but I know someone boarding who expects to be there for the following 2 weeks!

wished we lived a little closer would love to pop down to see them,it seems when we leave southampton never many other ships around,but once at venice we did see a good selection

Yes - P&O Artemis is now "Artania", operated by Phoenix/Reisen.
