Dover will serve as the departure point for a wealth of cruises around the British Isles in 2012, according to the port authority.
A number of companies will offer UK itineraries from the location, including Fred.Olsen, which will operate a ten-day cruise around Britain and Ireland.
Saga has scheduled a 14-day sailing featuring highlights including Guernsey and the Isle of Man, while a 12-day voyage from the same company will showcase some of the region's hidden heritage.
Travellers will also be able to sail from Dover to destinations in the UK and Ireland with Oceania and Princess Cruises, with the latter carrying passengers to cities such as Dublin, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Kate O'Hara, the port's commercial and marketing director, said that Dover has the potential to offer the perfect start to passengers looking for all sorts of holidays at sea.
She added: "At a time when many families have to consider their budget, this niche market offers value for money whilst affording an opportunity to experience the elegance and charm of a cruise".
