    Hurricane Irene

Just heard our friends left the Caribbean Princess this morning, after it docked earlier than planned. They are staying in a NY hotel out with the worst area and say the rain is just starting to fall and that they have been advised the storm is likely to hit NY sometime around 4 am. The info they have is over 200,000 homes in North Carolina are without power and the transport system closes down shortly. The indications are that it will remain closed until Tuesday. All of NY airports are closed, but they are safe but not looking forward to the next 24 hours.

Thank you for the up date, I will keep everything crossed that she will die a slow death or at least become less severe before reaching New York, my thoughts and prayers will be with them during this worrying time.

I hope all works out well for the folks in NY. Having an earthquake and hurricane in such a short time must be very frightening.

On Sky news there has been one fatality in North Carolina, a man was killed by a falling tree.
    So sad!
