I'm glad to hear that you did at least manage to be accommodated in some measure. I've settled for a land-tour of India instead - booked it yesterday. It will be less leisurely and will involve packing up and moving on at regular intervals, but at least I'm doing most of what I had in mind to do. I couldn't find anything in the new brochure that I really wanted, but am sure I'll be back on the refurbished Minerva some time, as I love what Swan offer. I just hope the improvements don't mean they hike the prices out of the reach of us solos! Good luck and enjoy your cruise.

I don't now why anyone is surprised with All Leisure's (Swan Hellenic's) actions they have a history of doing this, 2010's voyages on Minerva returning from Antarctica cancelled, cancelling cruises on Hebridean Princess so they could charter it to the Queen etc. Our one and only trip with them was an absolute shambles the problem being that Minerva is grossly under powered, over the years they have published various cruising speeds, 16, 15 and 14 knots. in reality it is more like 13 knots and in any weather above a force 7 Minerva is dead in the water it is not a kindly ship to bad weather.

They are spending money on refurbishing it, the best thing that they could do is scrap it or leave it to tootle about in the Med, it is totally unsuited to making deep sea passages and that was why they originally got rid of it and replaced it with Minerva 11.

Thanks for the info, just found it on their site. Will wait and see what they say, but can't see how it can be acceptable no matter what. Obviously not many Swanners use this site, as I'm surprised there has not been a deluge of replies to this post!

I agree, annoucing to the press before informing customers is really poor customer service. How awful to have to find out in the manner that your long awaited holiday has been cancelled! Shame on them....
