I think the idea of studio cabins for single travellers is fantastic So few cruise ships have single cabins and therefore single travellers have to pay an unfair supplement but from what I have seen it doesn't look as though they are much cheaper.
Epic's Studio's are rather compact, but are normally sold at half the price of a standard a double cabin, see www.ncl.co.uk

I think the cabins look great. it must be great for the single traveller not to pay a single supplement. keep up the good work NCL.

don't want to work, just want to cruise.

NONSENSE! Check out the NCL web site. The studios (single cabins) are generally sold with NO single supplement so that are HALF price a double cabin. The 128 do sell out very fast because of this.

Amusingly NCL now claim that Epic's Studio Cabins were designed for singles, but this is not true - originally they were aimed at young couples - that's why they have a double bed and sexy variable-mood lighting! However they were sold at the same fare as standard inside cabins, which were a bit bigger. Hence they did not sell very well.
You are quite right Malcolm. in those days I used to frequent CC regularly and I remember the preparations prior to the launching of the Epic well.
