I can't enter this discussion, as our first cruise with Celebrity is next May.....except that a similar one we priced on a big P&O ship and around the same time, was a similar price; both from Southampton. This will be our 6th line, and we're looking forward to noticing the differences which everyone seems to suggest we'll find.

I am amazed with this comment. I am amazed you found the Windjammer so busy, as it is not on Celebrity Ships. Windjammer is on R/C ships but perhaps you thought you were on Celebrity, but were not really. Please get your facts right. Also Celebrity beats P&O hands down in every department.
Glad you pointed this out. I was sitting here scratching my head starting to think that I had missed the Windjammer on the brilliant Eclipse.
As to the price of drinks I get sick of hearing this on here.
Cocktails in the Martini bar with enough liquor to launch a small rocket at $7 is not expensive is it ?? ........ unless you spend your nights at home on Tesco car park drinking Carling at 4 cans for a fiver I suppose.

You have it spot on I had the Apple Martini lips were going numb after 2 .most drinks are free pour and the service excellent ?
I would expect to pay more for a drink in a hotel than a pub ,Service on one P&O ship was that bad I got up and Poured our own wine as we got fed up waiting.

Having reached gold status on P & O and recently cruised twice with Celebrity Eclipse, sorry but there is no comparison. Eclipse is far better in all respects and P & O have a long way to go now to compete. Over the years standards have slipped on P & O and it is P & O who have become more like "McDonalds" certainly not Celebrity. Yes drink prices on Celeb are high but this avoids passengers who are looking for a booze cruise with the resultant behavioural problems and lack of respect for crew and fellow passengers which have become more frequent. Oh and Windjammer is not on the Eclipse - the buffet is Oceanview Cafe.
