Cruise holiday enthusiasts with a passion for ocean life may have found their dream trip after Paul Gaugin Cruises announced plans for a special trip with Jean-Michel Cousteau.

The ocean adventure is one of the latest cruise holiday itineries unveiled by Paul Gaugin Cruises as part of its plans for 2012.

But while the usual mix of chefs, musicians and artists are on offer across the range of cruise holiday packages, this particular cruise offers the chance to travel alongside Jean-Michel Cousteau.

Cousteau is the son of the legendary Jacques Cousteau the famous oceanographer familiar to millions through a series of famous documentaries.

Much like his father, Jean-Michel Cousteau is an explorer of the deep blue sea and is something of a filmmaker with credits including work as a consultant on Finding Nemo.

On board the Paul Gaugin cruise, Mr Cousteau will be providing lectures and showing films of his experiences of the sea as well as leading a series of scuba diving expeditions as part of the package.

With guests able to explore the rich sea culture of French Polynesia, this could be the most unique cruise holiday on offer in 2012.
