Hat's whether he was affected by shock or didn't act rationally, the fact remains his actions caused the ship to go on the rocks and peolpe to die think of the pax who are lost instead of the Captain, he was a disgrace, that said the emergency services were magnificent, as were the coastguard the Mayor and the islanders.People all have their opinions.CG
I do agree that he caused the accident and is responsible for all the disaster . I also agree that his actions were shameful. But what I don't agree with is all the emphasis that he is Italian and his actions were typical and only to be expected from an Italian.
To complicate matters even more, the recording of another tel. conversation has been released. It purports to be the Captain saying that most of the passengers/crew had been evacuated and just about another 300 were still on board. He said he would remain on board.
