If seeing the Northern Lights is high on your to-do list, then 2012 is going to be the prefect year to search for them. It is one of nature most awe-inspring light show and for 2012 NASA predict that it will be the best year to see the best aurora Borealis display.
Due to the sell out success of there last Northern Lights Cruises Hurtigruten have added 3 new cruises in winter 2012 with prices from just £949pp.
They went on Sale today and already demand for these seem to be very high

Have been on Hurtigruten to see the Midnight Sun . The food was very good, the staff outstanding and the sights were brilliant.
The only drawback is that the ship is a Norway ship with Norway prices so beware. IF we had wine it was £34 pounds a bottle (the cheapest) and beer £6 per half litre and that was 3 years ago. Coffee and water if I remember correctly, was sold in a package after boarding.
My advice is to choose a Fred Olsen small ship or an American ship where the prices are fairly reasonable and in Pounds or Dollars;and eat and drink ON the ship ; NOT on the shore. Scenery is magnificent !!
