A lighter shade of BLUE chip

Well it was the company that we all went on holidays with. How times have changed?

Eastman Kodak today files for bankruptcy protection today after trading since 1880. Who would ever have thought? It just shows that if you let technology pass you by and not keep pace - you are doomed! At its height Kodak employed 160,000 emplyees worldwide - today its just 9000. The figures speak for themselves.

It did not embrace the digital era like its competitor Fuji!

Are we about to see the extinction of one of the world's best known and loved brands?

The business world is a tough one!

'You press the button and we do the rest'

    Hi Tomvet
The sad fact is it was a Kodak Engineer who worked out how a digital camera would work and I think they held and then sold the Patents for it,no doubt some clever accountant or the chairman knew better ,
Reading today it leaves the company pension pot in trouble.
Bet the board will have no financial problems .

Yes I did not realise that Kodak invented the digital camera and they never followed through. Accountant shoud never manage - they are always very blinkered from a strategic aspect. Who's pension pot is not in trouble?
Totally agree, the boys at the top will be just fine and probably will get jobs sitting on other boards after making a mess of this one!
