Oceania Cruises' Marina set for ex-UK sailings in 2012

Oceania Cruises' newest luxury vessel the Marina is set to arrive on UK shores this summer for two cruise holiday sailings over June.

Setting off from the port of Dover on June 6th, the first trip will see passengers travel up to Scotland and along to the Orkney Islands and Skye.

From there, the trip will call at four different ports in Ireland before returning to Dover via Fowey in Cornwall.

The second voyage is scheduled for June 18th and will see holidaymakers travel from London to Copenhagen in Denmark, with port calls in Ireland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Norway.

First unveiled in 2010, The Marina offer 629 guest staterooms and suites with 124 Penthouse Suites and 20 Oceanview staterooms.

Holidaymakers can also enjoy one of six open seating restaurants on board the ship, as part of the vessel's special focus on culinary delights.

According to the cruise holiday company's website, the Marina "personifies the Oceania experience and then some".

"We have retained everything guests adore about our ships and raised the bar ever higher."

Have you ever been on an Oceania cruise? Would you rate it? What is your opinion of UK-focused cruises like this?

Better to sail BACK to the UK than the other way round (eg. Dover-Copenhagen) - that way you can pick up loads of souvenirs etc during the cruise without needing to lug them home on a plane.

This is such a great vessel that it might even be worth going round the UK just to relax in beautiful surroundings with outstanding food

    Marina

Best ship overall that we have cruised on, some cruise lines could certainly take lessons from their training of staff and I mean all the crew whatever rank, they were all so very friendly, professional we were made to feel very welcome. The food was also excellent. No cons at all except I would like to see more sailings to and from the UK
