Where would be the best place for us to go to watch them arriving? , we will be staying in Southampton overnight.
I usually cross over into the Mayflower Park....I was out very early one morning to see 4 ships arrive, and was with a staff member from the Red Funnel line, who liked watching the ships before her first sailing to the IOW.

If you've got a Sky box, then tune into the 6:30pm BBC local, (for the Southampton area), news programme on 5th June. I would imagine that they'll be covering this fantastic event!

I think that it's BBC South, Sky channel 984, but perhaps someone will be good enough to confirm this. Thank you.

Blue Funnel Cruises are offering a cruise up Southampton Water to view the three Queens arrrive as well as evening sailings for the departure and fireworks, Red Funnel Ferries are also offering a trip on one there ferrys also for the departures.

Otherwise Town Quay is the best observation point rather the Maylower Park as you get a better view, myself of course will be dockside to watch this awesome event:-)

We will be arriving from the Norwegian Fjords on the Queen Victoria on that day. Didn't realise when I booked it. Not sure what time we will have to be out of our cabin. It should be light by the time we sail in so we should get a good view of the other ships too.

The 3 ships convened in New York City January 2011 but it was too cold to enjoy it for long! They are owned by Carnival (American), registered in Bermuda and use US currency onboard. Unfortunately there's nothing British about them but their names so it's time to move on.

Apart from a few important things- such as they mostly operate out of Britain, have mostly British Passengers, and have decor, entertainment and itineraries which appeal to the British Passenger! It doesn't really make much odds to most of us where they are Registered or what currency they use, so long as they remain true to those basic ideologies in my opinion. But out of interest Cruzer, Where should we be moving on to? I don't think there are any 'British' registered cruise ships afloat are there?

I think the gorgeous Hebridean Princess is British registered.
