Passengers aboard the Crystal Serenity this summer are set for a culinary-focused cruise holiday after master chef Nobu Matsuhisa was confirmed onboard the vessel.
Master chef Matsuhisa, who is known for his fusion cuisine, is set to board the Serenity this May and serve as the in-person executive chef at the onboard Silk Road and Sushi Bar.
The Japanese chef is set to provide cooking lessons on the trip, along with demonstration of dish preparation and a special autograph and photograph session with fans.
He will sail on the 12-night European and Mediterranean voyage departing from Dover on May 24th 2012.
As part of a special add-on, passengers will be able to indulge in a special 'Omakase' dinner with sake and sake champagne pairings chosen by Sake Master Fumio Hazu.
This will include hands-on cooking classes in Crystal's kitchen for up to 12 guests.
The new package highlights the growing popularity of culinary-focused cruise holidays. Earlier this month, Oceania Cruises announced chef Jacques Pepin was set to open a bistro aboard Riviera.
What culinary delights would you like to see on a cruise? Should more be done to promote healthy eating onboard?
