A Royal Caribbean bus excursion ended in disaster after suffering a serious crash during a trip to St Thomas in Dominica on Friday (January 27th).
According to reports, the incident occurred after the open-air bus lost control, hitting several mailboxes and a car before falling 65-feet into thick bushes below.
One female passenger suffered a broken hip as a result of the fall, with another passenger requiring forehead stitches after the incident. Miraculously, no one died as a result of the incident.
The accident occurred during the special Best of St Thomas and Shopping shore excursion provided aboard the Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas vessel.
According to the Royal Carribean blog, "only the woman with the broken hip did not return to Serenade of the Seas to complete the rest of their cruise".
Royal Caribbean PR representative Cynthia Martinez later explained that Royal Caribbean would be paying the medical expenses for those who suffered injuries, while also noting that some compensation was also likely.
