Topic: Fred Olsen Return to Liverpool

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines have announced that they will be offering cruises from Liverpool in 2013.

The news comes ahead of the launch of it's 2013 Worldwide preview brochure.



There will be 10 cruises from the Liverpool cruise terminal, with the first cruise departing on April 21, 2013. A range of destinations will be offered including the Norwegian Fjords, the Baltic and St Petersburg, the Canaries and the Mediterranean

The line abandoned Liverpool in 2010 after 10 years, due to the difficulties with Bootle’s Langton Dock Cruise Terminal.

It cited operational problems getting the 28,400 gross ton m/v Boudicca in and out of Langton lock.

Are you more likely to book with Fred Olsen if you can cruise from Liverpool?

That's great news.
We have been with FO several times, but had the long journey to either Dover or Southampton.
Will certainally be a change of scenery sailing either up the coast or down. Wonder when doing the Fjords or the Baltic which way they will go?

Still think that Hull or Newcastle would be a super departure point for those destinations. Hope it happens one day.
But... Yeah! Liverpool will be good.

Yes, and I am sure there are many others who have been unable to travel across country in recent yearswho will now book.

It appears that Fred will be Offering 10 Cruises to depart / return from Liverpool in 2013.

Thats great news ,i'm already going from Liverpool in Sept on Cruise & Maritime it's so much cheaper & less hassle than trailing down to Southampton the day before ..& now i can try Fred as well ..yipee

What a relief to hear Fred Olsen cruises returning to Liverpool. Hope to travel from the "Great Port" next year. The view of the Liver Buildings when returning on Boudicca in 2010 was fantastic. Only cruising out of Venice and into Lisbon can better the stunning views in my opinion.
