Passengers aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise have been struck down by norovirus as the illness continues to plague cruise holidays across the world.
Reports previously revealed that two Princess Cruise ships were delayed after hundreds of passengers were struck down by the virus.
The incident caused delays to both the Ruby Princess and Crown Princess cruise ships, with deep cleaning required as a result of the outbreak.
The Voyager of the Seas now looks to have suffered a similar fate, with over 200 passengers suffering from the illness over the weekend.
In this instance, cleaning crews were called in to sanitise the ship as best they could, a task that proved difficult given the size of the ship and spread of the illness.
The incident marks the latest example of norovirus in what is traditionally seen as the peak period for the illness.
An expert from the US-based Centre for Disease Control and Prevention previously warned that December to February is the peak season for norovirus illness.
