Just back from 14days on the Ventura or as it is now known Butlins on Sea,
Far to many kids running around, taking up all the lifts it takes ages to get a lift because the kids press exery button and the lifts take ages, drinks far far to dear, food not up to P&O standards, eating areas a bit tatty.
the 1 good point the cabins are nice unless you get one that has had a family in it.
We will never be back on the Ventura ever again, money not well spent:mad:.
Entertaiment was very poor, dancers could not dance and the entertainment Director was, how do I put this anti European.

    Ventura NEVER AGAIN

    Buzz
I am also just back from from cruising on the Ventura and it seems we were on different cruises. For a start it's not Butlins on Sea, that is Ocean Village and Thomson's. There were only a few kids on board and they were in the kids club most of the day, they were not running around the ship. They did occassionally press all the lift buttons. The eating areas were not tatty, it's a new ship. Nothing wrong with the food, the drinks are the same price as all other P&O ships and are cheaper than most cruise ships. The cabins are nice unless a family has been in before! do you go checking if a family has been in before???
The entertainment was good, especially Annie Lennox's tribute show and the dancers could dance The entertainment Director was Bob Boyd, he was from Chicago, has lived in Britain for 20 years, he done his own show and was brilliant, he sang all the British songs at the sail away, knew all the words, even to 'Jerusalem' hardly anti British or European.
We had a great time, we will be going on the Ventura again.

Yes I have been on OV and Thomson's, I have also been to Butlins many, many years ago. In Butlins the red coats played games with the customers, the same as the entertainers do on OV and Thomson's, these games are played on the pool deck and in the lounge bar in the evening. On OV some people mainly men, put their T shirt and shorts on of a morning and left them on till they went to bed. I will never cruise on these ships again, they are not what I want from a cruise, I also accept some people enjoy this type of cruise.
