Well done Anne, hope it all goes well. Maybe we'll meet on a cruise one day! Where are you off to in July and on what ship? You can transfer to another cruise any time up to when you need to pay the final balance, but you do have to pay at least the same amount as you were originally paying, i.e. you can't transfer to a cheaper cruise.

Hi Jane, We are not going away in July, it is the final payment for our cruise in September that is due on 6th July. It is a med cruise on Azura, leaving from Southampton. We booked it on our cruise in May last year but I didn't realise how long it would take me to find a new job (I was made redundant in March last year). I just thought if it looks like we wont be able to afford to pay it in July I could maybe change it for the same cruise, next year. I wonder what happens to the "perks" we got (On board credit and free parking at Southampton), do you think you lose out on that when you change the booking?

    Anne

Hi Annie, as far as I know you lose any perks like that unless the cruise you rebook on offers the same kind of deal.

Oh Poo I'll just need to "spike" everybody's coffee then and work all their hours while they are off with the lurgy ;)

There might still be some kind of incentive though because we would still be booking a cruise more than a year ahead of going. It was the free parking at Southampton that we thought was a good saving. I think we paid about £89 for our nine night cruise last year and the one in September is sixteen nights. If all else fails I can still pin my hopes on Camelot, it must be our turn by now Anne

I really should have read that back before I clicked submit button. :o

If the cruises were that cheap I would not have a problem

We had a chat about it last night and we are going to try our best to go on this cruise. Our last holiday was last May so if we cancel the one in September it will mean we wont have any holiday this year.
There's a good old Scottish saying which is quite apt "if it's for ye it'll no go by ye!" So here's hoping it is "for" us. Anne

Hi Anne, I'm sure you'll go, just don't eat in the meantime! You'll save a fortune, be as thin as rakes when you get on the ship and not have to worry about all the weight you're putting back on!

If you won the lottery, how would you spend it? And, more importantly, who would you cruise with and where to?

Majority of monies would first be put into the bank for safe holding while a percentage would be allocated to my children and grandchildren , some to charities for children and about $200,000 allocated to a lovely world cruise. This would allow a balcony and first class on the Airplane. This way we can comfortably enjoy ourselves and adjust our lifestyle when we return to proper wealth management.
Then we can schedule regular cruise trips.
Our World Cruise would be a close tie to Curnard or Holland America though Silver Seas would be a contender.
As one wag said, have to get nice clothes and loose a wee bit of weight though I'm not that over.

    Cheers
    Rob
