Topic: Waltzing the waves...

Twelve lucky cruising couples are due to show off their fancy footwork to judges aboard P&O Cruises' Azura next month.

The contest will be judged on April 9 by a panel lead by former ballerina and Strictly Come Dancing TV show star Darcey Bussell.

The couples all earned their places by winning heats on previous P&O Cruises holidays.

One of the lucky couples, Mr & Mrs Taylor from Otley, said “We’re surprised and thrilled to have reached the final stages of the Dancing at Sea competition on board Azura, and look forward to dancing before Darcey Bussell and the judging panel. "

The six couples who win through to the final on April 10 will be invited to stay on board overnight and be given an exclusive tour of the 115,000 tonne Azura, which will be officially named by Darcey Bussell on the day.

I do like to have a go and have been taking Ballroom and Latin Dance classes now for over a year. Dont think I'll ever reach the 'Strictly Come Dancing' level though.
Just migrated at the beginning of the year from Beginners to Intermediate and enjoy it immensely. Its like doing a full hours work out and certainly a good form of exercise.

Far too many steps to remember by the time I get on board ship. Keep having to hear the dance class teachers instructions in my ear. But love it and will always be up on the dance floor when I get the chance.

At least we now know some of the entertainment on offer on the Christening some of us are going to on the 10th April !
