What a pain in the ASH!

Nobody knows how long the ash will keep rearing it's ugly head... It sure makes you realise what a little isolated island we really are...

" Services were cancelled from 0700 BST by aviation authorities but restarted at 1300 BST after it was confirmed the ash had dispersed. "

Im on the website of the Liverpool boat in case I have to maybe boat to Liverpool overnight from Belfast then drive 200 miles to Southampton on 20th for 21st May as Im worried in case this happens for my Eclipse sailing. The ship stops next in Madeira after Southampton? My friend is getting the same Liverpool boat to get to Bouddica which is going from Liverpool on 21 May (I think) Im worried for her and her husband as this is her first ever cruise! No fly-zone?

I really feel for all those who are worried because of the infamous Ash Cloud jepordising their planned flights.
We went through hell when we had flights which were cancelled making our Eclipse cruise seem to be impossible. When British air space was opened all flights were fully booked, but luckily Air Malta put on a number of extra flights and we made it.
I tried to put things into perspective - a little boy in Malta had an urgent appointment for treatment at Great Ormond Street and obviously that was more important than my cruise. But I still kept on thinking ... why did the volcano erupt just now ?
Let's hope that even if there is an Ash Cloud over Britain it will at least be localised so that not all airports will be closed.
