Topic: Pirates get their ransoms

Not a cruise ship but a tanker.......but isn't the successful payment of these ransoms going to encourage the Somailian pirates to think bigger?

The pirates have recently learned not to mess with the Russians or their ships.
I found it interesting that those pirates the Russians released
..have somehow "perished at sea" How very unfortunate.


The pirates have also learned that just about every other nation's vessels continue to be fair game!
and that they(the pirates) remain well protected by aging International Maritime Law
which works so well in their favour! ;)

Given the current controversy over the Polish plane crash I'm not sure the Russians ought to be giving blazing gun tactics such an airing at the moment, but yes I imagine the pirates will certainly be avoiding Russian vessels now. I didn't realise anyone had 'perished at sea'. That is indeed interesting, in light of possible Polish government survivors.....
