    Liverpool V Southampton 1 - 4

    Hi
I live 20 miles from Liverpool but i do not wish to start my cruise from there as it would take an extra day to reach the Med, yes it should be OK for tranatantic crossing but that is all

There is going to be a fireworks display in the evening before she sails.
May watch it from the Wirral.

This is my first post and although i haven't read all the posts i hope this is fresh to the argument. I have no axe to grind with Liverpool i love the city but i think a better port for cruises in the north would be Hull especially for the Baltic and the Fjords after all P&O are already there and the road structure is ideal.

    Hi Marlin.
Im from Widnes (almost Liverpool) and i agree, anywhere but Southampton for me.
After going to Southampton 3 weeks ago and seeing the facilities for embarkation i believe Liverpool could build a big shed like theirs.
And also have one of Englands great cities to visit.Yeh,Yeh,Yeh:D.

I'm from Widnes to, originally from Liverpool. Emigrated 7 years ago. (i want to go home ) If i can't cruise from liverpool i'm not going. Had a horrendous time getting to southampton last year, never again. Why all the agro anyway, there are enough cruises now to accomadate both Liverpool and Southampton. Going from liverpool this year. Liverpool is a brilliant city, had a lot of money invested in her and it shows. All we need now is a decent terminal.
Were getting an M&S in widnes on Thursday yippee, Yippee, yippee

Aloise I enjoyed going from Southampton two years ago...... Hawaii from Los Angeles.....That's a stinker....Good trip even so..........
ps I'm from Liverpool.... that's the place without a 'Proper' airport.

Well, Liverpool would suit us and save us around £250 in Eavesway coach fares per cruise (which would be an added incentive to go on some of the shorter ones).

Nice to hear from a couple of fellow Wiganers too
