    Themed cruises about themed cruises?

I came accross a page on another website which listed all the different themed cruises around. I was surprised at just how long the list was, and how many I had never heard of:
Antiques, Arts and Crafts, Art, Astrology, Astronomy, Big Band, Birdwatching, Botany, Bridge, Choirs, Christmas Markets, Civilisations, Classical Music, Comedy, Computing, Cookery, Creative Learning, Creative Writing, Current Affairs, Dance, Diving, Egyptian and Greek History, Exploration, Fashion, Film and Theatre, Fitness, Food and Wine, Gardens, Geneaolgy, Golf, Grand Prix, Greek and Roman History, Jazz, Maritime History, Monaco Grand Prix, Music, Musical Comedy, Nordic Legends, Northern Lights, Norwegian History, Opera, Painting, Photography, Poker, Pop Music, President's Cruise, Redentore Celebration, Reindeer Races, Sailing, Science, The Archers, Valentines, Wellness, Wildlife, Wine, World War History.

I wonder if anybody has done any of these? Or if some of them really constitute a whole theme for a cruise? I personally would be interested to see what a Reindeer Races cruise is all about and how it works. Have any of them wet your tastebuds?

Yes, we've done the choirs one. There were 132 singers, plus various partners etc. You ordered the music before the cruise, and stated which part you sang. Every day there was a rehearsal for 2-3 hours, with a top UK conductor, and on the last day you performed to the ship's pax. We did a work by Elgar, and a group of British folk songs.
They do this every year- I think we were on the 3rd one. We were on Louis Perla- not our favourite ship, but the company made up for it.
It's called "The Really Big Choir", and does lots of similar events, both in the UK and in Europe eg a weekend in Venice learning Vivaldi, then singing in his church.
Several people from our choral group go to these events.-Jo.

Not quite a themed cruise but I was on Navigator of the Seas at the same time as a Polish Insurance Company. They had a company conference aboard. They had a ball. What a great time we all could have had if the company we worked for decided to do the same.

OK, it's decadent but have you seen the daily rates charged by the major hotel groups for conference delegates?

Reindeer racing involves being pulled on skis at high speed behind reindeer (1 or more) sometimes call ski-jouring.

It looks like fun although somewhat dangerous!
