Red face P&O for the disabled

P&O cruises have a selection of disabled cabins across their fleet. There only tends to be a handful of inside cabins the majority are balconies. All the wheelchair accessible cabins seem to be near the lifts. The cabins have wide doorways into the cabin and the bathroom and are of a good size so the wheelchair can manoeuvre easily. All the wheelchair accessible balcony cabins have ramped access out to the balcony. The bathrooms have a wet room style shower room and grab rails for the shower and toilet. All wheelchairs have to be stored in the cabin P&O will not provide storage.
P&O do ask that an able bodied person travels with the disabled passenger to help with day to day tasks. You can't hire a wheelchair onboard you have to take your own.
For shore excursions P&O will send out a separate guide about 4 to 6 weeks before sailing. This will detail the access for all the ports and for accessible vehicles.

I must admit now ive done 2 cruises, Ventura, Navigator, I havent seen the cabins but for getting around the ship and doors that slide open onto the decks and you can go all the way around without having to get a lift,, The Navigator blows Ventura out of the water, and thats a new ship,, Having said that both ships staff really do go out of there way to help you... And yes Ventura does send you a leaflet for the tours,, only for wheelchairs though.. Brian
