    Thanks Jan,
Take a look at my question in weddings section regarding photography costs and see if you can advise or shed light
    Hi redline,

have you compared the costs with that of having a photographer at a shore based wedding? If you pay £700 for a tog to come along on the holiday he will still want paying on top of that, and travel expenses to and from the ship. give a few locals a ring and see what they say.

Edit: Just another thought, if you ask a pro tog to come along they may want to be compensated for all the other jobs they cannot do while they are on the ship, it could well add up to a massive amount. If you ask a friend to do it you risk not getting a great set of photos to treasure, you get what you pay for I guess, (I'm glad my kids are all boys!!!).

We are just booking our wedding at sea which will be incredible value compared to the stay at home option.... However... a word of warning...
It's incredibly difficult and complicated as every cruise line will advertise their wedding packages but after many months of constant questioning and dead ends the true options are much more limited than they first appear. For UK residents looking for a European cruise there is P&O or Princess. Something to do with the ships being registered from British territories gives them the option to provide legal weddings at sea. PLEASE, PLEASE... do NOT be fooled by other cruise lines who have constantly let me down and know nothing of their own company policy. Royal Caribbean in particular were my first choice and very keen to take my money but the ceremony would have been "symbolic only " and we would have handed them thousands to have returned home unmarried.
I found Princess very easy to book for my youngest daughters wedding on "The Grand" all done on line, everything from hair massage flowers music, even the resteraunt. I am finding the same with P&O for the next one on the "Oceana" :D

I would deffinatly say great value for money.
Our daughter got married last year on the Oasis of the seas in Fort Lauderdale onboard ship.A complete package to include License, wedding Officiant, flowers, bouquet,Champagne and Strawberries,Breaky etc..and it was a lovely experiance too.
Next year on the Allure of the seas our son is getting married exactly the same way.......
We all can't wait, and we know they will have a lovely day and then a fantastic honeymoon too.
There will only be the close family there (as was the same with our daughter) and maybe a few friends this time.
The beauty of the wedding onboard ship was we as her parents had a fantastic FAMILY holiday all togeather with our daughter and her family (who live in Canada) and our son and his son and soon to be family ,which will be the same again for Aug 2012..
and the other thing is NOW they have done a cruise, they have all caught the CRUISING bug too

some call me Mrs Early Bird......:p

Definately great value for money. We got married on Oriana in 2008 and while the cruise we went on was for 30n the actual ceremony and licence with flowers was approx £1,500 photos another £1000.
