It may be simpler to just marry some poor person
and endure, like the rest of us.

    Mine can cook -and clean!!
    Beat that.

You could try Thomsons for a supplement of 30-40% on the brochure price. Of course the couples get the benefit of discounts while singles have to book early to even get a cabin

    Brochure Example - 2 weeks Caribbean Jan 2011 on Destiny. £1649 per person . Single outside + £574, supplement + 34.8%

    Current price £1288 + £49 for outside cabin = £1337
which means the supplement is 66% however this is for a double outside cabin.
Ahh!, some progress. Thomsons web site now recognizes single bookings and calculates the appropriate prices including discounts. So someone somewhere must be taking notice in a small way. The supplement drops to a better 42.7% with a price of £1908.

There really should be a website somewhere that specialises in single cruisers looking for sharers... There could be chat rooms in there with themes of special interest, but nobody could join without putting their birthdate, a true profile and at least 4 pics.
Tick boxes for: Snore, Hetro/Gay, Spend ages in bathroom, need more than 12 hangers, wee with door open, suffer from wind, tidy / messy, toss in sleep, light sleeper, shower before bed, etc etc.
I would imagine that most single cruisers would happily pay £25pa to join the site..

there could even be a rating system (anonymous) for past sharers.

    How about it??

Not for me. Sharing? No way, the site would be prey to wierdos and perverts anyway!. I am a solo cruiser, not a single trying to get into somebodies pants. The 'other' forum has different sections for solos and singles.

Solo - cruising on your own for whatever reason.
Single - looking for other singles to connect up etc etc

Part of it sounds like a good idea, especially when you consider the single occupancy sting. But I wonder how 2 complete strangers would cope in such a confined environment, what if you simply don't get on... you're very stuck!

Same as me, some cruises I do with my partner and also with her kids as well. As I am a bit of a cruising addict sometimes I just go on my own for a short break so that's a SOLO and not a SINGLE. For me it's the complete disconnect when cruising and the ability to relax.

The sooner it becomes more affordable for people travelling on their own...well I am pricing up my 5th cruise of 2010 and this one will be solo.....
