Cruisings Cool
My one and only mad moment was on IOTS back in 2008. We were cruising with my wife, my son and my mother-in-law. We had interconnecting rooms with the three of us in one room and my mother-in-law in the other. I awoke one morning at about 3am when I heard a loud bang. When I opened my eyes the large bang was that of my cabin door closing loudly behind me - leaving me nearly naked in the corridor. After tapping on my door a number of times I failed to raise my good lady who still sleeps like a baby. Eventually after about 5 minutes of trying to wake my wife without waking the neighbours I gave up and plucked up the courage to knock on my mother-in-laws cabin. She answered the door quite promptly, was none too pleased and takes great pleasure at sharing my moment with anyone who is prepared to listen at family gatherings.

Ida and I were returning to our cabin one night and in front of us two others were doing the same arms linked. Her feet were obviously hurting so she stopped and took her shoes off. I had a mad moment and linked arms with the guy and we walked together for some distance before he suddenly realised and said "Awwww, only you English would do something like that." Meanwhile the two girls had to sit down, the tears rolling down their faces. ....Neil
Well here we go
Some years ago we on a Royal Caribbean ship docked in a European port, I can't remember which, and berthed ahead of us was a P&O ship. As we were well established P&O cruisers we were fully aware that P&O did not charge for shuttle buses, but RCI who were new into Europe at that time, were charging for the use of the said buses.
We started walking towards the dock gates and upon arriving alongside the P&O ship a bus pulled up. As there were only a handful of people waiting we hopped aboard, and the driver immediately started up and pulled away with just a few of us onboard.
We were taken into town and after a days walkabout we arrived back at the shuttle stop in town and there were two buses waiting. One had a Royal Caribbean sign in the window, the other a P&O sign.
Which one do you think we boarded?

A friend of ours went ashore briefly from a cruise boat on the Nile at Aswan. She decided she had had enough and went back to have tea. She finished her tea and then went to her cabin but the key didn't fit so she called a steward who tried to let her in and then told her she was on the wrong boat. On the Nile they tether them side by side and she had gone one boat too far.
Ida did something similar on Silver Wind and the steward let her in. She soon realised that she was in the wrong cabin and so did the semi nude women whose cabin it was. .......Neil

We went a month before our daughter and family on the same ship. Had a go at the quiz..........Rubbish. But wrote the answers down, Gave them to her. Never thought anything more about it till she texted me and said they had won:D Same questions we had had. They won a silver photo frame. Didnt last long though when they got home........... Dogs knocked it off the shelf and broke the glass and put a huge dent in it! Just deserts eh? :o

[QUOTE=bobbybuoy, peterborough;121721]Hello Folks
Whilst on a cruise, have any of you done anything that you have kept to yourself and feel a bit guilty about?
Would you like to 'fess-up' but don't want to bother a priest or phone Simon Mayo?
Why not 'get it off your chest' here. Big or small (your guilty secret..... not your chest), you'll feel better for it.
You never know..........your fellow cruisers may even offer you some forgiveness (or not...).[QUOTE]
Well Bob....in another life ,as Chaplain on the Spartanline I hear many confessions from cruisers,but of course my professional ethics mean that I could not possibly broadcast them!Shame really,they will just have to wait until I write my memoirs when I retire!Sympathetic Stan:D
