    Identify this ship!!

    .
I have just found this photo on the interweb - can anyone identify the ship, or in fact is it a ship! and not created by some clever person who has manipulated an original photo?

I have looked through Berlitz guide and cannot see it.

Zooming in to 400% the name on the bow appears to be 'Odmedreca' or Admedreca'.

    Any ideas anybody...............

Would place a bet that it is an artists impression.

Intrigued, just 'googled' it & lots of results to look at!!

I think it's a rather attractive example of computer design/manipulation?

It is a wallpaper called Olmedreca:

olmedreca - Cruise Ships Wallpaper 151706 - Desktop Nexus Boats

It is very good - I might even use it.

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

At first I though it was one of the NCL newbuilds!;)

    Here is her history:

    Structure:

Olmedreca was a megaship* four kilometres long and nearly three wide, and shaped like an arrowhead. It massed a billion tonnes. The ship had subsidiary lasers, separate from the bow lasers, on a side prow.

    History

In 1331 Olmedreca was abandoned on the eve of the destruction of Vavatch**. The hull was breached by a nuclear warhead. The ship remained afloat but the breach caused its course to curve toward the Edgewall.

Kraiklyn's Free Company attempted to raid the abandoned ship for its bow lasers. The effort was cut short when the ship collided with an immense iceberg. The forward kilometre of the hull was destroyed or buried inside and there was further damage from the nuclear device detonated by Lamm. The Company evacuated before the police arrived.

    __________________________________________________ ________________________

*The Megaships of Vavatch Orbital were large naval vessels that sailed the Circlesea.

Megaships were many kilometres in length, took years to work up to full speed, and took 40 years to circumnavigate the Circlesea. Full-sized liners were used for excursions and also as tenders. Aircraft were also attached.

Megaships were equipped with bow lasers. These were used to clear icebergs and floatweed islands, possibly larger than the ship, which the ship could not manoeuvre around.

The Megaships were built at Evanauth, the Orbital's capital. One was taken by The Ends of Invention for preservation prior to the Orbital's destruction.

**Vavatch was an Orbital near the Sullen Gulf. It was destroyed in 1331 CE during the Idiran-Culture War by the GSV Eschatologist.

That sounds just like a fictional book by Iain M Banks 'Vavatch Orbital' which
is primarily about starships and not cruiseships!! ;)
