Hi Dave Whit, you have a ship on this thread page 10, that nobody has been able to guess, so I’ve have done a bit of research and come to the conclusion that your Mano cruise ship is the Iris, built as the Konstantin Simonov in 1982.
She has a twin being Jasmine, ex Lev Tolstoy built 1981, with only a slight difference in the radar domes.
Hi sorry for the long reply........this thread dissapears sometimes and I can't remember where it is:p.the pick is there to view on the actual post and sometimes when I click on it it says I do not have permission to view.but now I can click on it and it comes up...so......

A'ha I beg to differ Spartan, the photo on page 10 shows the ship with a zodiac abaft the lifeboats, and both ships have this feature on the Port side, the only difference I can find is that now Iris has two radar domes, one a little smaller than the other, and both are clearly shown in the photo on page 10.
Therefore I am resting my cases :D

Hi Bob
Yes it was!!
I remember one day/night we left La Palma for Maderia @14:00,it was the roughest sea i have ever been in (done the same crossing 3 times now + every one was rough, something to do with Continental Shelf)by
16:00 three quarters of the ship was in bed.
It ended up 10 of us in the bar @23:00,by that time the crew even had enough, they shut the bar,but not before leaving us with cans of beer + a case of wine.
We came out of bar + straight into breakfast as we entered Maderia @ 05:00.
The wife killed me + took me straight ashore sightseeing.
The best night ever in 20 odd cruises.:D
