Hi Carol, Just to underline my nomination for Stan and May being the most caring members, did you notice on the Eclipse Naming thread that they have offered to be an overnight half way stop for another couple travelling down to Southampton? I thought that was such a kind jesture.

I also saw that where they were calling for it to be outlawed as we were singling people out ~ maybe they just didn't get thee grumpy & pontificator joke or were trying for one of those two awards themselves?

Hi All...and that includes giving 'awards' to posters and inviting nominations for the less attractive 'awards'. All the posters on this site are decent people with many different views to give. To pick and choose 'who gets what' is totally unnecessary.

Grumpy I may be at the sight of an invitation to forward nominations for an unsavoury award but a pontificator? No. JC may think either my post or the other thread hilarious or whatever Shelledpea, but having seen the results of name calling both in the classroom and on the internet, I'm not impressed. One thing can lead to another, as it did here. What is amusing to some isn't to others. So, if that makes me grumpy? Fine by me.

In an effort to ease the building tension, I will nominate myself for all these awards which was intended to add a bit of humour to the topic I can now see that it was not taken as intended, and I apologise for my
thoughtlessness. I was always told that names dont hurt, even though no names have been mentioned. Unfortunately I cannot speak for others that may have offended in this topic, but I've done my bit.
