Topic: Pre-Cruise Hotel In Venice---Advice Please

Following on from my request about getting to Venice---thanks for replies---I'm now thinking of going a day early in case of delays.

So, can anyone who has been recommend a cheap hotel (nothing grand, it will just be a bed for the night).

Something near to the port would be convenient---by the way can someone confirm what area of Venice the port is in.

Dave look at the Crown Plaza east its was called the holiday inn they will pick you up from the a/port 20 minute drive its 50 mtrs from the train station a 15 minute ride into Piatza Roma this is the cruise dock from here there is a free cruise shuttle bus that will take you to your ship 3 minute ride you could walk it but with luggage a bit hard. i have stayed here 500 mtrs from the hotel there is a great pitza shop
