Bloody good for your Libido though. There are only two 'real' tastes of the sea, crab and oysters. Me, I'm partial to them all.
Hmmmmm I thought the oyster effect was a myth put about by the marketers.

    Lovely town

We enjoyed Vigo, walked up to the shopping area. On the main traffic street there was a great coffee shop called ECOS. They sold hot chocolate with ice cream scoops on top - delicious.
Alcohol and cigarettes are the best buys in Spain. We also walked into a lovely Church and had a look around- advised to cover shoulders. There is also a large green area/ park, a bit steep and loads of steps to climb but the view is worth it, even from half way up.
We were given a map as we left teh ship. It looks like there is a coffee house near the back of the green park area but its a bit of a walk & posisbly a childrens play area on the right. It was just too hot fo r us to investigate further. We walked back into teh town to get supplies and ended up in a Spanish bar drinking tea and eating small snacks like Tapas. We had a DK pictoral dictionary which was helpful. Not many people seemed to understand English. Heading back to ship we went into the shopping centre. Very modern, more expensive than the town, more English spoken- aimed at tourists.

We enjoyed a stretch of the legs here as well on our visit....we too found the church and went inside (even though there was a service going on!) ...I always like to explore the port and we thought it was OK even though it was quite a showery day! the shopping mall by the berth was quite good with a fantastic electrical store ....we spent ages in here and bought a mini mouse with retractable lead for our laptop !! We were impressed with the choice of goods available in this store....we also saw people with C & A bags although we didn't see it !!!:D

Boring place. Should have done a tour. Took the opportunity to go around the ship, ios, and got some lovely photos without loads of people being in the way.

It amazes me that anyone can see that plate of seafood and recommend staying on the ship!!! Each to his or her own though.

    Vigo

Your best bet is to stay onboard and enjoy the ship. Vigo is not a very nice place to visit. We have avoided this port on cruises since the one time we visited this port. Don't know why the cruise lines choose this port to take the cruisers. Sorry but to put it in simple terms the place is a dump.
Thought the same until our last visit. The town has changed and is much smarter. Dockside is no comparison to the awful area before. New shopping centre by the ship has free wi-fi on second floor!

    Helsinki

2 plain churches and one scalpture is all Helsinki has to offer. As with a lot of ports one probably needs to view it as just a place for the ship to dock and that points of interest are proabably an excursion away.

Vigo has a lot of great places to visit, I think is just a matter of finding them. I believe the information given on maps or tourist offices is not enough. There is a tourist bus that operates from May to October and itīs quite interesting if you do not like to walk. There are also some walking tours. Iīd recommend Walk, Learn and Taste! Itīs a three and a half hours walking tour and a guide brings you to the best spots in Vigo centre and it ends with a wine and Spanish ham tasting and workshop. Itīs a good value for 20 Euros and a private English speaking guide. You can get more info on : info@galiciamyway.com
