Is there a special send off from Southampton

Hi

Will be sailing from Southampton on 1 June on Eclipse . Does Celebrity have a band playing on the quayside when leaving ?

I remember on a previous P&O CRUISE they had a pipe band playing or is this something that only P&O do .

Cheers

Scotslizzy

[QUOTE=scotslizzy, glasgow;38181]Hi

Have been a few cruises with Celebrity and in some ports the local band does play when the ship sails, but not that many nowadays. It is possible the inaugural cruise on 26th April will have some special send of as there is not the same money being spent as there was with the Equinox last year. As far as I know the Eclipse is due in Southampton on 20th with the naming ceremony taking place on 24th after which the specially invited guests will sail away returning on 26th.

Have just been looking at AB Parking in Southampton as I have just booked one of the Eclipse Mini cruises. It looks as if Eclipse will be in Southampton from the 16th. They have parking for 16th, 18th and 20th onwards.

All the material I have seen lately named 20th, but you might be right nevertheless, we shouldn't believe everything in the press. Had a look at the Southampton site for incoming/outgoing shipping movements and it confirms 20th April.
