Cor Blimey, will you girls stop with this talk, as I said earlier to cornish girl, "The imagination is a wonderful thing" and you have me panting now. :D :D

Two years ago my husband had some meetings in London and I went up with him. It was in December and so ideal for Christmas shopping. Plus we love London at that period with the lights and the shops open till 10 pm - happy atmosphere, chaos and all.
We stayed at the Marble Arch Thistle (ideal location for me while my DH was away at a meeting) and there were a couple of staff parties. Believe me you wouldn't have needed much imagination.
Many took a room for an overnight stay and the next morning they were a sight. Still wobbly and dressed in their glam clothes which by then looked anything but glam.

Hi David, sorry for uping the anti but see what a little bit of imagination can do, and not forgetting the memories, you can call me girl anytime you like! down in Cornwall I call everyone my lover or my handsom' used to get some funny looks and comments from emmetts (holiday makers ) as we call them here ( emmetts are ants) .

Thanks for that Carol, I hadn't considered the size of case. We'll probably take a medium sized one and OH Suit bag. Judith

I think you are right about being a 'Jobsworth'. I to took a large case to Magnifica which was too large for the scanner, and a nice young lady took my case to a cargo scanner and cleared it - took about 2 minutes.

That is encouraging. Nice to know some people still have a customer service ethic. I'll still take the small case. How many outfits can I wear in two days? (Purely rhetorical, not another sweepstake!) Judith

If I was 30 years younger it would be easy - a black, strapless, clingy, mini dress with black tights and hiiiiiigh heels. And I wouldn't wear a wrap - even if it meant I was freezing. I'd sit on a high stool at the counter of the bar with crossed legs and a glass in my hand - most probably like most of the Thomas Cook girls on the Magnifica
Those were the days! Long frock now and wrap to cover flabby arms, I can still wear high heels though - if I sit down a lot. Judith

Can just about get away still with a knee length dress. But the bingo wings need a cover up. Love high heels. At least you dont have far to walk to dinner and I take them off for the long trek down 'Le Corridor' back to the cabin. Feels slightly naughty, after a few drinks. Many a time me and OH. giggled and felt like naughty teenagers! Carol ;)

Yes, I've carried my shoes back to cabin/room in all kinds of accomodation. Especially if there are stairs involved, I've lots of shoes that don't 'do' stairs. The combination of high heels and long frock could be disastrous!

I've just received 'Pending Confirmation'. Apparently 11.30 am on 24th. Antone else travelling to Southampton on Friday? Judith
