Hi Judith, Having agreed that we would travel down on 23rd, I didn't wait for OH to book a hotel, I booked it. You could always surprise him. Jill;)
Alan finally got around to booking a hotel and chose one of the Best Westerns in Lymington. Should be fine. Now if I can just negotiate an early finish at work .......;)

Apparently we'll be allocated cabins when we get there. First come first served and work their way down? I don't really mind about the cabin since we'll not be spending much time in it.

See you in the engine room!

    Judith
Don't joke Judith! Being allocated a hammock in the engine room would be John's idea of heaven!!! No, I am not joking and I fully expect him to seek out the First Engineer to see if he can have a guided tour! Please everyone, try not to mention 'engine room' to him!!! He is really in to steam but even modern engineering thrills him!

I honestly do not care what grade of cabin we get. They all look very nice and I certainly won't look a gifthorse in the mouth so to speak! I wonder if any entertainment will be on in the theatre? Perhaps they will use this cruise as a practice ground for the first paying cruises two days later! Last price I saw for that cruise was £329 so you never know, a bit more down ward movement might tempt us!!

Did I see earlier that someone had booked a hair appointment? If so, was it for the onboard salon? I wonder if it will be available and if it would be bookable in advance? I rather fancy though that the salon will not open until 26th so I will need to arm myself with all necessary accoutrements!

It looks as if our travel plans may change so that we leave on 23rd directly for Bournemouth (oh errrrrr!) then staying in Northants on the way back. Not a problem really but that will be quite a trek. It's a jorney we have done hundreds of times but it does get longer as we get older!

I am indeed and we sail at 4pm (I think) so if you see the GP passing Eclipse you must all shout 'hello';)

Now here's a less pleasant coincidence, like the other Marie, (Cornish Girl) I have had the most unpleasant bug since returning from Spain on Tuesday.

Hope you're feeling better than I do this morning Marie and that your invitation has been confirmed.
Here's wishing you a very speedy recovery Marie (both Maries!!!)

Well at least the hotel is booked. How long do you think the journey will take you?

Well I'm hoping that the spa will be open, as I would quite like to check it out by having my hair done and maybe a massage. It won't be gratis of course but the pampering costs are all part of the experience-if you're a woman, that is.
    Jill;)

Hi Jill, Equinox last July, sited away up north these freebies are fine but a bit to far for us to travel, as my wife had a stroke a good few years back and it takes too much out of her. However we get around it by booking up the ship for a normal cruise last year in the Caribbean with Solstice for two weeks and this year on the Eclipse for two weeks to the Med, so we have a lot more time to look around and see what each ship has to offer....Bill

That's the problem for anyone not living in the south. Many of those that have been invited to the naming of Eclipse have a long way to travel. I've been watching the thread on Soton v Liverpool as a cruise port. let's hope that more cruises use Liverpool as their home port in the future, to enable easier access for those living north of Watford. I would certainly go north to Liverpool to start a cruise as I love the city. I guess for some destinations though, it's just not practicle-shame.
