The actual naming ceremony of P&O Azura won hands down in terms of glamour and showmanship and in all my years of cruising the Azura 'Do' will stay with me forever.

Eclipse ceremony was led by a Highland Pipe and Drum band from RAF Halton, a lot of 'company promo speak' followed by emotive footage of Emma Pontin and a wonderful resume' of this courageous woman's battle by a visibly emotional Dan Hanrahan.

The actual naming and cutting of the ribbon is there for all to see on the video clips.

Azura,s ceremony was London Palladium..........Eclipse was an emotional ride.

As nice as Azura is, Eclipse does just that. It Eclipses Azura by a good few furlongs around the course.

We're talkin' Holiday Inn against Ritz Carlton IMO with thinner toilet paper.........Wilba
Oh Wilba hope you have your tin hat on to protect you from the P&O crowd!!! :D

don't want to work, just want to cruise.

Hi Faz! I'm back at work now, but I'm rubbish this morning, I just want to tell everyone what a great time we had.

I'm trying to write a review that doesn't sound as though I go round in rose tinted specs, but it is not easy.

Thanks to all at Cruise.co.uk for the most amazing weekend. It was lovely to meet you all and you've converted a small ship devotee to a whole new world.

    Judith
Judith , I couldn't find anything to really moan about, everything in my opinion was first class and I thought they deserved five stars same as your score , it was an amazing weekend wasn't it. Marie:D

    Back from the Grand Tour!

Hi everyone, we arrived back home on Wednesday evening having been persuaded to stay an extra night with friends. I jumped at the chance to stay because I was somewhat shattered after a weekend of being waited on hand and foot!!! The cruise was a wonderful experience and has simply confirmed that my thoughts on Celebrity cruises were confirmed - definitely a cruiseline for me and I will hopefully book a cruise very soon - as a matter of interest, does anyone else feel as I do when I return from holiday, i.e. I absolutely feel I must book the next cruise/flight or whatever. I am convinced it counteracts feeling a little deflated after a holiday and my experience on Eclipse left me feeling lower than usual because it was a great experience!
The ship is really elegant and was a joy but what made it more special was meeting fellow forum members! We seemed to spend a lot of time sitting together discussing cruising (and of course other things!) and while we all have different opinions, there was not even a hint of the usual kind of rubbishing peoples point of view that we see all too often on the forum. We thoroughly enjoyed everyone’s company and would give a small ransom to repeat the experience, so friendly and approachable were our cruise companions. It was a delight too to meet the Cruise.co staff too and I thank them all for their good company! I had one big disappointment though! I was absolutely convinced that Wilba would be a Captain Birdseye double and he wasn’t! Aaaaarrrrr! (That doesn’t mean that he isn’t a handsome devil who has a very glamorous wife!)
Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Cruise.co for the invitation. It was a truly unique experience for us and one that I would surely love to do again but I would have my doubts that anything could equal it!
I have written a review which I will post after I have caught up with the forum and the new threads! Sooooooo much to read! Magsy

Hi Magsy,Hope you are recovered, it was a truly magical weekend and I couldn't fault them a wonderful ship we were so lucky for the invite. I always return after a cruise and wanting to book right away, I think it's called the cruise blues, it was lovely to meet everyone although, we didn't get much of a meeting with you all, it was nice to at last put the names to the faces. Hi Magsy. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed an extra couple of days after leaving Eclipse. I think that those of us from this forum agree entierly with your sentiments and are finding it difficult to get back into the real world.
You are right about feeling the need to book something after such a wonderful experience. Yesterday, I booked for us to go on P & O Adonia in July 2011 round the British Isles. The itinerary icludes lots of places we've not visited before including Greemock, Stornaway and Kirkwall. We already had 2 cruises booked but had had our eyes on Adonia for a while now. That particular cruise only went on sale yesterday ans was booking up pretty fast.

    Keep in touch

    Jill

    M. Alloa! Names to faces!

I read and loved all the reports from our roving reporter Grant! You all had the most wonderful time by the sounds of it. A long way for you to travel though. But great you made it a little longer trip. Just want Grant to recover after his little (Two jaunts) and put names to all of you on the pics. All of whom I have to say looked really, really good. Carol :D

We spent a few days in London after the cruise and returned to Malta early this morning.
All the restaurants we went to were a let down after our Eclipse experience though.
It seems we were all impressed by all aspects of the Eclipse - Celebrity had everything planned and ready. The staff in the MDR seemed so confident , you'd never have imagined they were still getting the feel of the set up.
I was expecting some teething problems but honestly didn't see any. {except maybe not providing milk in the cabins ).
So a great big Thank you to Cruise.co , thank you to the staff, thank you to Grant for the video's and pics, thank you to fellow cruisers who all contributed to the enjoyment, thank you to everyone who encourged me when the ash cloud played havoc with our plans.
It proves the Cruise Fairy doesn't only provide upgrades or upsells, she also intervenes when circumstances seem desperate.

Jill, you little devil! You have beaten me to it but I will take some cheering up to know that someone has booked another cruise and it does sound good. You can be sure (dates permitting) that I or we will be there to greet you in Greenock and while it is a long time away, it is something to look forward to!
