I still cannot get full info on Celebrity site re how many bottles do I get for for the starting price of £78.50? if it's 3 then we are better off buying wine as and when but if it's for 5 bottles and includes 15% tip then that is good value. Issy :D
Issy that is the price for Three!!!

I always buy a wine package on RCI as it always works in my favour, but the Celebrity wine packages just don't stack up in terms of value and choice.

I drink red and DW drinks white and both of us purchase 'by the bottle' as it works out cheaper for our preferred wines.

I know it's costly, but my wife & I are on eclipse in August, and going for the beer, wine, spirit, specialality coffee and water package at something like £38 per day per person. The way I see it, is that our 2 week cruise has something like 8 days in total at sea, 2 day stopover in Palma, so would probably stay on board then. Also, a couple of beers during the day, g & t before dinner, wine with meal, drinks at shows, cocktail before bed, it soon mounts up. The extra would mean we're pretty much all inclusive. Expensive, yes. But once paid, can forget about what we spend.
I bought classic package at £29 -15 a day wine and spirits up to $8 beer $5+ speciality coffee ect

Wine packages don't state how many bottles of wine are included? We loved the ship but the drink prices would definately put us off cruising with Celebrity again
I shall stick with P and O as the drinks on the Eclipse almost made me tea-total !
Also the very loud music every evening in the theatre made me find ear plugs which luckily I had with me but never usually have to use in other ships. Other people also complained but it was still just as loud. We walked out of two shows. How did others find the Eclipse ?

Buying a wine package in advance.

I am travelling on Equinox on 26/7, I have spent hours online trying to order and pay for a wine package for wine to have with our dinner, all that keeps coming up is buy as a gift and states will be delivered to your stateroom! on previous cruises with RCI I was able to order and pay in advance and was given a card which we gave to our waiter at dinner and ordered the wine then. Can I do this with Celebrity.
    Thanks

There are two ways of doing this. Firstly you can order through Gifts and gear which you select individual bottles of wine (there are not many to choose from) and you can have this delivered to your cabin or dining table and state which day. Otherwise try following this: From Celebrity web page go to - Before Your Cruise, then select Beverage packages from the list on the LH side. Then click on Taste of Vineyards - this brings up a list of the wine packages.

These are not the same as RCI wine packages and are quite expensive with only a limited selection of wines.

Wines on Celebrity start at $28 plus 15% of which there are a few but you will probably end up paying in the region of $30-$38 to get something half decent.

Have you looked at the all in drinks package - Classic Alcohol package costs around £33 per day and covers all drinks up to $8 except beer ($5). This includes wine by the glass and if you seek out some of the drinks price menus on here you will see there is quite a good selection by the glass.
It covers all drinks in Bars, Theatre, and Dining Room but not mini bar nor room service. It includes soft drinks, spirits, cocktails, water, speciality coffees etc all up to the amount stated.

    Hi Carolb

Ours, for a 12 night cruise on Century is £446.29 each. £892.58 just for our drinks bill - I don't think so!

2-3 coffee, tea, soda, smoothies per day, $2 ea

    2-3 beers $5-6 ea

1-2 Cocktails or Martinis $8-$12 ea

1-2 other drinks call them $7 ea - makes this seem reasonable ... if you do it EVERY day

And I don't consider myself a particularly big drinker... not sure if I'll go for it though as there are all those days ashore to consider

Will be travelling with Celebrity Eclipse next year 30/07/2011 and very interested to understand what you get, we like a good bottle of wine with our meal, so if we have a bottle each night as well as an Aperitif, then during the day we like soft drinks (fruit juices) and premium coffee advise on what package would be best to buy or not, would be greatly appreciated. Confused on how many drinks you are allowed each day. Yours confused :-(
